Daily lectures can be viewed on a computer in FH124, Sierra Hall 221, and the Library Computer Lab.

Daily tapes of the direct broadcast can be viewed in the library at the reference desk.

OFFICE HOURS AND COMMUNICATION WITH THE INSTRUCTOR

Office hours are from 1 -2:30 PM on M W, and 2:30 - 4 PM Th
(note: There are no office hours during summer,)

My office is in Founder's Hall 270 C

Voice mail can be left at 209-575-6111

At the beginning of each week you should check the The Week At A Glance to check on what is due for the week.
At the end of each week you should send an e-mail message to jccurl@sonnet.com briefly summarizing what you have done for the week in relation to the lectures, homework, and labs. If you do not check in each week, you may be dropped for non participation.

Homework is assigned daily; schedule a minimum of 10 hours/week.

Solutions to the problems should include the statement of the problem, formulas, substitutions, and intermediate steps.

The homework problems are an essential part of the course.

You should keep your homework in a binder and bring the binder with you to the exams.

The homework for the semester is worth 50 points.

There are three one hour exams each worth 100 points.

There is a two hour comprehensive final worth 200 points.

You are expected to use a new blue book for each exam and final.

The semester grade average is determined by dividing the sum S by 5.5 where

S = sum of 3 exam scores + final exam score + hw grade

The semester grade is then determined as follows:

A (90 to 100%) --- B (80 to 89%) --- C (65 to 79%) --- D (55 to 65%) --- F (0 to 55%)

CALCULATORS AND CELL PHONES

You will not be allowed to use a calculator for tests.

No Cell Phones can be used on tests. Cell Phones should be left in your back pack during class time and should not be used during class.
